I have just returned from a trip to Palau where, according to the recognised historian of the island of Peleliu, I stood on the very spot where Damien Parer was killed. The historian also runs the war museum on Peleliu. He believes Parer's remains were excavated from Ambon and re-interred in another place. He would like to find out where Parer is finally rested as Parer is such a significant person on the Peleliu battle he woujld like to be properly informed. Any information that I could pass on to him would be greatly appreciated.
