Kokoda Historical has conducted historically guided tours across the Kokoda Track since 2005. We have many successful crossings and satisfied customers as evidenced in our Client Testimonials.

We provide the complete living history experience; we focus not only on the adventure of the trek itself, but also on experiencing the history first hand. Our pricing is very competitive and safety is our number one priority. We combine the knowledge of locals with that of Australian Historians. Our emphasis is on small groups and the historical significance of the Kokoda Track and the Kokoda campaign.

In 2007, we had the honour of being the first company to take a group of young Aboriginal students across the Kokoda Track in recognition of the importance and much overlooked role Aboriginals played in WWII. This was part of the Kokoda Dreaming project and this trek featured on the ABC show, Message Stick. A thirty minute episode entitled 'Going the Distance' followed our group of Aboriginal students on our trek. Click the link to read more about this: Kokoda Historical Message Stick

More recently, we were selected to run the Harry Bould Memorial tour which is being hosted by the 39th Battalion Association. The 39th Battalion Association hosts an annual competition whereby they invite students from across the Cardinia Shire in Victoria, to submit an essay outlining what Kokoda means to Australians. With sponsorship coming from the Cardinia Shire Council, Pakenham and Parklea Racing Club and Kokoda Historical over the  last 3 years, we have successfully brought 4 young students on the adventure of a lifetime. The winners experience the adventure and history of the Kokoda Track in June each year to commemorate the anniversary of Harry Bould.

In 2010 Kokoda Historical successfully merged with the highly-regarded company Komplete Kokoda which is run by Soc Kienzle the son of famous Captain Bert Kienzle who was involved in the Kokoda campaign.

Starting off either in the village of Kokoda or Owers' Corner we will make the 96km journey across the rugged terrain of the Kokoda Track. The highlights being: Kokoda, Isurava, Templeton's Crossing, Lake Myola and Brigade Hill. Kokoda Historical also offers trips to the Northern Beacheads taking in Popondetta, Gona, Sananda and Buna.
